Since there is a real possibility that your child could create this glitter slime in less than 5 minutes, it’s a great craft for them to kickstart their day and give them something to look forward to also.
To begin, gather the following ingredients:
Just lay them out on the table so you can grab as you go!
Just follow the super simple steps below to make this easy slime recipe!
Start by gathering up all of the supplies listed above. (Never start a craft without being certain you have everything first!)
Next, use a mixing bowl and add in the water, and glue. Mix.
Once mixed together, all in the coloring and/or sparkles. (As you can tell, we made ours green with green glitter.)
Make certain that you’re mixing the water, glue, and additives together very well.
Once combined well, take and add in the liquid starch and stir for a minimum of 30 seconds.
At this point, you should notice that the mixture is pulling away from the sides of the bowl and sticking together.
Once you notice this, you can start to mix the slime mixture with your hands. It should be pretty pliable at this time.
Once it’s mixed and not sticky, you can lay it on a flat surface.
Add in the googley eyes and have fun. Mix them in!
Note: While the kids can help mix the glue and water and add-ins, I do recommend that an adult is the one to add in and handle the liquid starch.
They’re going to love how it looks and feels!

If you’re not careful with slime, it will easily dry out. The best place to store slime is in a glass container with a lid.
If that’s not an option, a plastic bag that can be sealed and closed will work as well.
This honestly will vary. It can actually last for weeks or even months without drying out as long as it’s stored properly. However, if it’s not, it will dry up very, very fast.

When making this easy slime recipe, if you don’t already have art clothes or smocks , I recommend them.
I also like to have a thick vinyl tablecloth to spread on the floor or table where they are playing to make clean up easy.
However, mistakes still happen and slime mistakes can feel more frustratingly hopeless than most…but they don’t have to.
If you happen to get slime on your clothes, watch this video where my friend Cindy tells you how to get it out simply and effectively. And if it lands in your carpet, this video is going to be your new favorite place on the internet.
